This coming Tuesday marks the first xc ski meetup ⛷ The trail will be at Chena Lakes rec area at River Park trail system (you’ll see a sign on the left for River Park Road, take it all the way to the parking lot) We will meet in the parking lot (it’s small) at 6 pm.
The trail has three different loop systems for those wanting a longer or shorter ski. This is a first time skier and skijoring friendly event!! Don’t be worried about your skill level because most others have the same worry! Bring a head lamp, this trail does not have lights.
The point of these meetups are to get outside, enjoy Alaska Winters, and build your outdoor community! You can rent skis from outdoor rec (thursday-sunday) if you’re military. REI, Goldstream Sports and Trax also provide ski rentals. Dogs welcome at locations that are dog friendly. Location TBD the week before each event. These meetups will be happening biweekly through the winter!

There will be a total of 6 XC ski meetups throughout winter

One person will win our winter adventure bundle after the 6th meetup!

This giveaway will be available only to those attending the XC ski meetups. There will be a separate giveaway for the fatbike meetups!
IN ADDITION
Each meetup is free and we are fortunate to have so many trails for our recreational use. With that in mind, Rove Co will be raising funds during each meetup as a way for our community to support the volunteers in maintaining these trails.

The proceeds from this winters meetups will go to Alaska Skijoring and Pulk Association, Nordic Ski Club Fairbanks and Nordic Ski Association of Anchorage.
The option to donate is not in anyway meant to pressure or make those who join us feel obligated to do so. We look forward to you joining our meetups either way!
