Chena Lake Recreation Area: 3780 Laurance Rd, North Pole, AK 99705

Join us for a bike ride at Chena Lakes Recreation Area in North Pole, AK!

Meet at 5:45 p.m. in the first parking area on the left as you enter the rec area. Let’s depart at 6 p.m. to ride the scenic bike path that follows alongside Laurance Road. The trail surface is mostly paved, wide and flat.

At approximately the 3-mile mark, riders will have the option to continue riding or stop for about 20 minutes to play/enjoy the East Lake picnic area. See details below. Everyone is welcome to meet back at our parking area after about 60-75 minutes for refreshments. For safety, we require the use of helmets while on a bicycle.

-- Shorter option: Ride the first 2.8 miles with the group, pause to play/enjoy (about 20 mins) at the East Lake picnic area, return on the same path to meet the group back at the parking lot (approx 5.6-mile round trip). This ride is family friendly and is ideal for all ages. See blue line on map

-- Longer option: Continue on the gravel bike path for 3.63 additional miles. See brown line on map. Then ride the paved path back to the parking lot. Total ride is approx. 9.2 miles. This option is for the more experience rider or someone who is aspiring to ride longer distances.
